Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: 19 March 2026

Please read this Medical Disclaimer carefully before using the DOSIST® website or purchasing any products through our platform. By accessing our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms set out below.

1. Compounded Medicines

All DOSIST® products — including Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, and NAD+ formulations — are compounded medicines prepared by Devonbosch Pharmacy, a registered pharmacy under the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Compounded medicines are individually prepared pursuant to a prescription from a registered medical practitioner and are tailored to the specific needs of each patient.

These products are not over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. They are not mass-manufactured registered pharmaceutical products and are not individually evaluated by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) in the same manner as registered medicines. Compounding is performed in accordance with the Pharmacy Act, 1974 and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards.

2. Prescription Requirement

All DOSIST® products require a valid prescription issued by a medical practitioner registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). A prescription will only be issued following a clinical assessment — conducted via telehealth consultation in accordance with HPCSA guidelines — in which the practitioner determines that the therapy is appropriate for you.

The prescribing doctor retains full clinical discretion and may decline to prescribe if the therapy is deemed unsuitable for your medical profile.

3. Not Medical Advice

The content on the DOSIST® website — including product descriptions, educational material, and blog posts — is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a substitute for professional medical advice from your doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare provider.

Always consult a qualified medical practitioner before starting, stopping, or modifying any treatment or medication.

4. No Guarantee of Results

Individual results from peptide therapy vary significantly based on factors including your health status, adherence to the treatment protocol, lifestyle, genetics, and other individual variables. DOSIST® products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Any testimonials, case studies, or results mentioned on our website reflect individual experiences and are not guarantees of similar outcomes for other patients.

5. Off-Label Use

Some peptide therapies offered through DOSIST® may involve off-label use — meaning the use of a compounded active pharmaceutical ingredient for a purpose, dosage, or route of administration not specifically approved by SAHPRA for that indication. Off-label prescribing is a well-established and legal practice in South Africa when supported by clinical evidence and conducted under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.

Your consulting practitioner will explain the nature of any off-label use, the supporting evidence, and the potential risks and benefits as part of the informed consent process.

6. Side Effects and Risks

As with all medicines, DOSIST® compounded products may cause side effects. Common side effects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Nausea, vomiting, or gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, pain)
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Changes in appetite
  • Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar), particularly with GLP-1 therapies

Serious side effects are rare but may occur. You must report any adverse effects to your consulting medical practitioner and to Devonbosch Pharmacy immediately. A complete list of potential side effects will be provided with your prescription.

7. Emergency Situations

DOSIST® is not an emergency medical service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, including severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or any life-threatening symptoms:

  • Call 10177 (South African Emergency Medical Services)
  • Call 112 from a mobile phone
  • Go to your nearest emergency room immediately

Do not use the DOSIST® website or telehealth services as a substitute for emergency care.

8. SAHPRA Regulatory Context

The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) is the statutory body responsible for the regulation of health products, including medicines, in South Africa. While SAHPRA registers and regulates manufactured pharmaceutical products, compounded medicines prepared by a registered pharmacy on an individual patient prescription are regulated under the Pharmacy Act and the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 1965 (Act 101 of 1965).

Devonbosch Pharmacy operates in compliance with all applicable SAHPRA guidelines, the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) regulations, and Good Pharmacy Practice standards. Our compounding processes adhere to the standards expected of a licensed community pharmacy.

9. Pharmacist Supervision

All DOSIST® products are compounded and dispensed under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Devonbosch Pharmacy's responsible pharmacist ensures that all compounding, labelling, storage, and dispensing processes meet the required standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.

10. Limitation

This disclaimer does not limit any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, or any other applicable South African legislation. For further information about your rights, please consult a qualified legal advisor.
